Snow Day

Yesterday I woke at my normal time of 5 to go to work and my MDX is in the shop and there was no way I was going to drive Joey's TL into the office (Joey had the day off). So my sweet friend Sarah saved the day and came and picked me up an hour later we were at my office -which should only have been a 15 minute drive. We got there and then it was declared a snow day! Yes so after a couple of hours we got to go home! I was so excited to play in the snow with Madelyn! We made Snow Angels, ate snow, played "can you find me by my tracks", went on an icicle hunt, ate the iceles, got the sled out, we brought snow inside for Izabel to feel and eat and she loved it and just tons of fun playing. Not good snow for a snow man so we are praying for that right now! We LOVE snow days!

Santa Claus is coming to town!

I took the girls to see Santa at Flips. It was so fun and so many people. But when it came our time we were not rushed at all! The girls were adorable and Izabel didn't even cry - shocking because she cries with most males. She must know this jolly old man brings her all kinds of special gifts! Madelyn asked for a bird house that she could paint- check - already in the bag! Glad she didn't ask for something new. I am done with the shopping!
I made the girls Christmas shirts - I couldn't find anything that I liked and Madelyn really wanted something with "hot pink" on it and "sparkles". I love how they turned out and Madelyn and I had a lot of fun adding the "sparkles".

Festival of Trees

Yesterday Madelyn got to perform at the Festival of Trees again and each year she just keeps getting better! She was so excited to dance! It was kind of shocking! We went early so we could see all the beautiful trees and play. We got ready out there. I didn't want to be stressed out - I took my time. We love the Festival of Trees. Here's Madelyn with her little buddy Lydia
Oh my precious Iza! She is really into her tongue right now
Our little Dancing Queen all done up and ready to go on stage! She let me take as many pictures as I wanted too and did some of the cutest poses ever!
Right before going on. She was so excited to perform!
On stage! Thanks to the Newell's that helped hold Izabel (Daddy is out of town) while I took pictures and gave me their seat so I could have the best possible view of my girl! Madelyn was so excited - look at that huge smile!
We are so proud of you Madelyn! You did such a good job!
On to our new family pictures! My awesome friend Jen & I do a switch every year. I take her family pics and she takes mine. We scratch each others backs. These are just a couple of my favorites that she did! Thanks so much Jen!

I took the girls back because Jen & I forgot to get the girls pictures together and I captured these of my own of my girls! I love them!

My husband should get an award for being the most photographer husband in a year! It is now a joke to us. I just love taking pictures and take so many of other people that I want the same! Love you babe! I wanted to have the girls pictures taken as fairies for Madelyn's whimsical room and since we paid for the time I had them take a family picture also - I thought Joey was going to kill me - but hey we paid for the time. So he went along with it and we got this studio shot! Love it. Yes we are wearing the same clothes each time so I can have them all match to be hung on the wall.
Then these are my sweet little fairies! Aren't they precious! Madelyn was in heaven. The sad thing is they could not get Izabel to smile and she is the smiliest baby ever! Go figure. I guess she is use to her personal photographer! Her mama!

Bar J Wrangler's Holiday Concert

We went to our first Holiday Concert of the season and we loved it! We are huge Bar J Wrangler fans! We went and saw them in Jackson Hole, WY for the first time and when I saw they were coming to Utah we got us some tickets! Nothing like good ol' fashion Christmas music sung by the most incredible male voices and amazing instruments! SO good! They are amazing and very funny! It was so much fun. My parents came along also, my mom and I both appreciate along with our sweet husbands good live productions- it was a lovely night a nice dinner and then an evening of live awesome music. It was a sell out and we had a hard time trying to find a seat - so we now know better for next time.

Family Night with the Spencer's

We met up with our lovely friends the Spencer's and had a fun time watching the kids create dinosaur mobiles at the Dinosaur museum and then running through the museum like they own the place. Thanks so much you guys! Thanksgiving Point is building the coolest Children's museum ever! I can't wait for it to be finished!
Us girls then headed out to see the real life reindeer at Thanksgiving Point - They are very cute if you ask me. Madelyn was very concerned they would not make it home in time for Christmas. I assured her Santa will make it home.

Thanksgiving Holiday

Wednesday it was free Zoo day. We have been wanting to see that baby elephant since it was born, but to cheap to pay for it when I knew the free day was coming. Erin & Lydia came with us to join in on the fun and that baby elephant did not disappoint! It was so adorable and how cool was it that we got to see the baby nurse! The weather was wonderful and sunny!

We then got home and packed and headed to the airport to fly up and see Nellie & Jason in Kallispell for Thanksgiving. This is us Happy because we got our tickets to fly. We boarded the plane and the ride is only 1 hour and 15 minutes and about 20 minutes before landing they said the fog was so bad that we could not land and we had to turn the plane around and fly back to SLC! Ugh! Madelyn started to cry, I started to cry. We wanted to see them so bad we had so many fun things planned. yummy dinner at an amazing cabin in White fish, movies, The Nutcracker, Dance with the sugar plum fairies, parades, shopping, etc etc etc but it did not turn out that way.

After finally getting home Wednesday night at midnight. I started thinking what in the world can we do for Thanksgiving so I thought why not try and do the same things. We woke up and went and saw Plant 51 at the movies - loved it,very cute and clever then we went and ate dinner at "Little America" oh my heart be still. This is one of our favorite Thanksgivings ever! The food was amazing. Everyone got to eat exactly what their little hearts desired and there was nothing to desire after this spread. Crab, shrimp, turkey, Roast beef and the deserts were amazing. We will do this again! We knew it would be a good time when Madelyn told the waitress she would like... apple juice, sprite & Root Beer and she brought them all out for her. We went around the table and told each other what we were thankful for and I got choked up listening to what Madelyn was thankful for. She is so precious! After we were done Madelyn raised her glass and said "lets Cheer". It was so precious! We sure did make Lemonade out of lemons this weekend. We had such a fun time being together. We sure missed our Nellie & Jason and will see them soon!
Oh my sweet Izabel will not keep her shoes or socks on. I have started to not care as much.

Madelyn trying shrimp for the first time and she liked it.

The next day I joined the crazies to get some good deals on the shopping. It was pretty fun and then went home and started decorating for Christmas - oh how I love this time of the year. My home is decorated and I love it. The presents are wrapped and put under the tree and now we can sit back and enjoy the holidays! The girls had a jammie day all day and it was cute seeing how excited Madelyn was setting everything up she was such a good helper and I let my OCD relax just a bit and let her help me hang things on the tree. We bought the girls their very own Christmas tree to be in their rooms - just cute and little and Madelyn was so excited to have it up. What a wonderful time of year.

I had to add this picture of Izabel. She is a lip licker - it is hilarious!

Turkey Shirts

We always buy Halloween shirts and Christmas clothes so I was on the look for Thanksgiving shirts and I found nothing. I came across this cute blog here and the lady made these shirts for her little girl and I thought they were so adorable. She gives step by step directions on how to make them. I made matchie matchie for my girls! I love how they turned out. The feathers are their hand size. I might just do this every year :) They make me so happy.

My awesome very talented friend Crickie (on sidebar) makes the stinking cutest bows EVER! I bought the season bows for my girls and they are sporting the "Fall" bows to match the shirts. They are priced very good too! Excellent quality too!
